Hair Colour Responsible Policy At Wiles Studios In Northampton
Wiles Studios follows a Colour Responsible Policy for the safety and peace of mind of our clients and team members. We offer a choice of two testing/screening options to check whether you are suitable for the hair colour products we use.
In particular, the following people must have a skin test, but you will also be advised of this during your hair colour consultation with one of our hair experts:
- Clients who have coloured their hair elsewhere in-between visits to Wiles Studios.
- Those who have not visited the salon for 6 months or longer.
- Clients who are new to Wiles Studios and would like their hair coloured.
We have two skin test options for you to choose from:
OPTION 1: AAT (Allergy Alert Test) - In Our Salon
We offer free Allergy Alert Tests (also known as skin testing) in our salon. You will need to make an appointment to attend the salon at least 48 hours before your hair colour service.
We will apply a small amount of colour formula behind your ear and leave it for 48 hours. Should you experience any signs of irritation, reddening, swelling, inflammation or itching, please contact us. If you develop symptoms that make you unwell, please contact a medical professional.
When you attend the salon we will observe the test area and ask you to complete a questionnaire. Subsequent colour services may not require an AAT test subject to screening questions. All of our team have been trained to test and screen for suitability for colour services. We take your safety and our work seriously. When you visit Wiles Studios you can have peace of mind that we are taking the best care of you and your hair. We thank you for your co-operation in our preliminary procedures before your service with us.
OPTION 2: Colourstart Passport - Online & At Home Service
Clients can buy a Colourstart Passport skin test which MUST BE CARRIED OUT AT HOME 5 DAYS BEFORE your hair colour appointment.
This test costs £15 and can be bought via Colourstart HERE (you will need to register for an account first). If you are on a mobile phone, you can also download the Colourstart app on Google Play here and from the Apple App store here. When you buy a Colourstart test from our online shop, we will be available to offer any advice you may need with regard to carrying out that test. We will not be able to offer this advice if you buy the test via Colourstart direct.
Once you have registered you will be asked a few screening questions.
